According to comScore 10 billion searches were conducted in the US in January. From its qSearch analysis of the search marketplace, Google extended its share of core searches to 58.5%. up slightly from December. Yahoo ranked a distant second with 22.2% followed by Microsoft (9.8%), AOL (4.9%) and Ask Network (4.5%).
